Collective Imagination brings to life Dan’s belief that the brilliance to solve the world’s most complex, systemic problems lies within us and the organizations we form.  In his practice, he supports organizations to undertake the “institutional soul work”* to identify the highest and best use of their resources in service of a societal and/or environmental need.  With that clarity of focus identified, he centres community expertise in the work to co-create pathways towards a more just and joyful society.  He then guides organizations to embed commitments to this work within their strategies systems and practices, embedding a commitment to true, long-term change.

Dan proudly serves on the Board of the Outdoor Diversity Alliance , a non-profit that seeks to “catalyze the outdoor industry in addressing systemic issues related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through collective action and centering historically underrepresented communities.”

Dan was formerly a member of the Program Committee for the Blue Sky Funders Forum , supporting Blue Sky Funders in holding space for authentic funder and nonprofit conversations, co-creation, and collaboration. Previously, he served on the Steering Committee for the Catalyst Business Alliance, helping to advance its vision of “a strong Canada with a prosperous, low-carbon economy,” as well as, the Conservation Alliance’s inaugural Confluence Program Committee, helping to intentionally connect to historically racially marginalized people for the protection of natural places.

A graduate of the Skip Yowell Future Leaders’ Academy, Dan also serves as a mentor for Canada’s Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25 and the Connecting Environmental Professionals’ Mentorship Program .

Dan is equally at home in the city and the mountains. Balancing his love of music and the arts with time on the trails, you’ll usually find him at a local gig or exhibition, or outside with a huge smile on his face while cycling, skiing, or running.
