Overview

Vancouver Foundation is proud to be working in partnership with the Government of B.C. , Community Foundations of Canada and over 50 local community foundations to deliver the Community Prosperity Fund —$25 million investment from the Government of B.C. that advances poverty reduction and social inclusion. The Community Prosperity Fund will provide up to three years of funding for the ongoing work of organizations across B.C. with funding decisions made by local community foundations.

Find your local Community Foundation

When applications open, community service organizations can apply to their local community foundation. Using the Map of Community Foundations , click on the area your organization is in to find your local community foundation. Alternatively, on the bottom left corner of the map , you will find a search bar, here you can insert your organization’s postal code, address, or town/city to determine your local community foundation.

Available Grants

The Community Prosperity Fund gives you the space to complete your best work. You can request for up to three years for your activities, giving you space to implement the funding over time and in a way that works best for your organization.

Eligibility

Eligible organizations must meet the following criteria:

  • You support communities in British Columbia;
  • You are a charity, a non-profit organization, or an Indigenous-serving organization. See page 15 of the Application Guide for definitions.
  • You have not received funding from the Lighthouse Organizations Fund* or Recovery & Resiliency Fund or received a 2023 LEVEL BIPOC Grant.
    • *Organizations who applied to Lighthouse Organizations Fund can also apply to the Community Prosperity Fund (CPF) as applications are still under review. If your organization receives a grant from the Lighthouse Organizations Fund, our team will withdraw your CPF application to provide an equitable opportunity for other organizations to access funding.

We encourage interested applicants to review pages 8 through 11 of the Application Guide to understand the eligible activities and expenses funded through the Community Prosperity Fund.

Are you a Non-Qualified Donee?

While a small number of community foundations can fund non-qualified donees directly, most non-qualified donees will need to work with a sponsoring organization (qualified donee ) to apply. See Page 12 of the Applicant Guide for further information.
