2024 Vancouver Foundation Magazine

In the 2024 Vancouver Foundation magazine , we explore how traditions and histories in the past unlock the opportunities for a brighter future.

Our inspiring cover story features Burnaby-born soccer star Christine Sinclair (page 13 ) on how she is using philanthropy to break down barriers for women and girls in soccer — and how it helps continue her fight for gender equity.

We also look at how Vancouver Foundation has changed over the past 80 years (page 16 ). What started off as a small circle of founders grew into a community-led organization rooted in inclusion and equity. We became an organization that responds to the changing needs of communities, and at the same time, we make sure we save for future challenges. That’s our intergenerational promise.

This issue also unpacks the incredible power of collective giving (page 10 ). For decades, we’ve been bringing generous supporters together to be part of a larger movement that drives meaningful change. Last year, that generosity broke records as we’ve granted out $142 million to nearly 2,500 organizations.
