Helen Blackburn

Chair, Finance & Audit Committee

As former Chief Financial Officer at Coast Capital Savings, Helen is currently providing transition and project support to Coast Capital until her retirement at the end of this year.

Helen has over 30 years of experience in cooperative and member based financial services, previously holding senior executive positions at Pacific Blue Cross, Central 1 Credit Union, Credential Financial Inc. and Northwest & Ethical Funds. She has served on the Boards of Credential Financial Inc., Central 1 Trust Company and Guardian Ethical Management. Helen’s previous positions at Coast Capital also include Interim Chief Risk Officer and Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer.

Helen is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce from the University of Toronto. She is a Business in Vancouver 40 under 40 award recipient.

Helen actively volunteers within her community. Currently, she is a Director for both the Vancouver Foundation and the United Way. Helen is a former Board Member of the Fraser Health Authority, E-Comm 911 and a past Chair of the Early Childhood Development Provincial Partnership.
