Donate to Indigenous Priorities
The Indigenous Priorities Focus Area offers flexible funding that helps Indigenous communities thrive.
Through close consultation with Indigenous communities and leaders, we have learned the best way to support Indigenous-led work is to honour the self-determination of the communities we serve. This means supporting their work in diverse ways and allowing Indigenous communities to define their own path to success.
When you give to the Indigenous Priorities Focus Area, you are supporting initiatives that uphold Indigenous rights, preserve their culture, and ensure Indigenous communities can thrive for generations to come.
Angela Paul and Sts’ailes First Nation are building Éyameth — a cutting-edge health clinic that fuses traditional knowledge with Western medicine. “This is our opportunity to reconnect and restore control of our health systems,” she says. Éyameth, which means ‘weaving health together,’ will not only serve Sts’ailes, but also the wider non-Indigenous community. Angela’s work demonstrates the importance of the Indigenous Priorities Focus Area. Through this focus area, we fund priorities determined by Indigenous leaders across B.C, ensuring resources go where they’re needed most.
Focus Areas are Guided by Community Advisors
When you support a Focus Area, you join a powerful force of like-minded donors and community advisors to make a profound impact on the causes you care about. Our Focus Areas fuel our grant programs. Each program also has its own team of community advisors who are all experts in their fields. This team reviews grant applications and directs your donation to the ones.
